Scholarship Winners

Winners of the Bryce Thomson Scholarship
awarded by the National Ice Cream Retailers Association.

Two local students, both employees of Brick Farm Ice Cream in Unity, NH, were announced as scholarship winners during the annual meeting of the National Ice Cream Retailers Association. Cassandra Partridge of Unity and Caitlin Peck of Lempster each received a Bryce Thomson Scholarship, two of a total of only ten scholarships awarded nation-wide by the association. Cassandra attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell for her freshman year and plans to transfer to Granite State College next year. Caitlin Peck is a freshman engineering student attending the University of California at San Diego.

The Bryce Thomson Scholarship was established in 1995 by the National Ice Cream Retailers Association to honor Bryce Thomson, a long time member and past president of the association, still an active member at the age of 90, and the self-proclaimed "world's oldest soda jerk." This year, a total of ten scholarships were awarded to employees of member stores.
